Great show as usual. It’s too bad that the Chinese Paddlefish may already be extinct. Let’s hope Zeb’s efforts will be in time to help save the other giant species.

i have been religiously watching monsterfish episodes and its sad to know how human’s quest to find alternative energy solutions (water from dams) have disrupted and endangered our wildlife.

Its alarming to know that magnificent creatures will just go extinct if the conservationist and government work hand in hand. this is a monstrous task but i believe it can be done. Continuous education to local government and the people in the area can be the key.

These series truly inspired me and my friends to volunteer in non-profit organizations to save biodiversity in the Philippines.

Before, i dont even like live fish, but this megafish project features have turned me into a convert.

‘Nice of NG-Channel to monopolize NG specials until long after they have any real impact on the present day, when the rest-of-us, who don’t have access to the NG-Channel, watch the much-dated specials on PBS stations!!!

I found it interesting the Goonch catfish should be considered the largest fresh water fish in the world. The White Sturgeon in the Snake river of Idaho can run over 10′ and weigh 100 lbs/ft. (have heard up to 20′)
PS: Lots of dams on the Snake and the Sturgeon are alive and well. They are catch and release only and love it just below the dams where some of the deeper holes are.

ChenWen, I really do hope you are right.

It would be a great loss for the Chinese Environmental, Scientific, and Aquaculture community should the Chinese Paddlefish truly be extinct.

Breeding of the remaining members should be a top priority within the immediate future.
