Beginning on September 1st, a new rule takes effect in Texas limiting catch of alligator gar to one per day per angler. No limit existed before the change.

As a kid we used to catch alligator gar and channel catfish on the San Jacinto River by Baytown, Texas (Banana Bend). They were as big as the NG photo almost 1/2 the length of our 14ft Jon boat.
